"Namdang-ri Cockle Festival"
The cockles caught between December and February near the Port of Namdang and Cheonsuman Bay are known for their thick flesh, large size and delicious flavor. It is also rich in proteins, iron and taurine. It is considered one of the specialty foods in this area and it's popular among people of all ages. The Cockle Festival is a great opportunity to try fresh seafood such as hoe (raw fish) and webfoot octopus.
